SUBJECT: PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF
LICENSEE PERFORMANCE (SALP) REPORT NO. 50 293/97 99
Dear Mr. Olivler:
In preparation for the Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP)
management meeting held on November 13,1997, we became aware of a problem in the
operations section. When discussing procedure quality issues, we referenced a
configuration control issue involving the inadvertent isolation of reactor vessel water level
detectors. This configuration controlissue actually involved a mispositioned keep fill
system valve which provides a small continuous flow into the reactor vessel water level
reference leg. Thank you for pointing out this error in the SALP report. We also
determined that this error did not change the overall rating in the operations area.
Enclosed is a corrected copy of Page 2 to tne SALP Report.
