Schedule for Performance of the Emergency Preparedness Implementation Appraisal (EPIA)
On March 31, 1986, Messrs. Rademacher and Chwalek of your staff contacted
~Mr. Lazarus of this office to requ.st that the EPIA scheduled to be performed at Nine Mile Point Unit 2 beginning April 14, 1986, be postponed until May 19, 1986. The request was based upon their judgement that sufficient progress had
-not been made in several areas which would make it prudent to postpone the appraisal.
In a telephone conversation with Mr. Rademacher on April 2,1986, Mr. Lazarus agreed to postpone the appraisal until the week of May 19, 1986. Please be advised that this schedule will make it very difficult, if not impossible for -
the staff to support your projected May 29, 1986 fuel load date, because of the time required to evaluate any open issues following the appraisal and coordinate acceptable resolution of those issues with NRC licensing.
