HADDAM NECK PLANT UFSAR 1.6 - ,

MATERIAL INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE

' Previously this section referenced a table that listed topical reports which provided information additional to that provided in the UFSAR and that were filed separately with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in support of this and similar applications. However, since the Haddam Neck Plant has permanently ceased power operations, these topical reports are no longer applicable.

98-45 1.6.1 ' Technical Requirements Manual 1/99 The Technical Requirements Portion (Section 11) of the Technical Requirements Manual (TRM) is incorporated by reference. Changes to the TRM require a 50.59 Safety Evaluation.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS H.B INSTRUMENTATION l ILB.3.1 SEISMIC INSTRUMENTATION t LIMITING CONDITION FOR OPERATION The seismic monitoring system instrumentation shown in Table 3.3-5 shall be OPERABLE.

APPLICABILITY At all times.

ACTION a) With the seismic monitoring system inoperable for more than 30 days, prepare and submit a Special Report to the Commission pursuant to Specification !

6.9.2 within the next 10 days outlining the cause of the malfunction and the plans for restoring the system to OPERABLE status.

l ILB.4.1 INSPECTION AND TESTING REOUIREMENTS

1. The above seismic monitoring system shall be demonstrated OPERABLE by i the performance of the CHANNEL CHECK, CHANNEL CALIBRATION, and ANALOG CHANNEL OPERATIONAL TEST at the frequencies shown in Table 4.3-4.

' 2. The above required seismic monitoring system actuated during a seismic event shall be restored to OPERABLE status within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
, and a CHANNEL CALIBRATION performed within 10 days following the seismic event. Data shall be retrieved from actuated instruments and

- analyzed to determine the magnitude of the vibratory ground motion. Ifit is determined that the magnitude of the event exceeded the Operating Basis Earthquake, then a Special Report shall be prepared and submitted to the Commission persuant to Specification 6.9.2 within 14 days, describing the magnitude, frequency, spectrum, and resultant effect on the facility features important to safety.
