Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Implementation of Generic Requirements By letter dated April 18, 1986 you requested a status of various Multi-Plant Actions (MPA).
Since receipt of the letter we have had discussions with you and have obtained additional clarification of your request.
O.= thougn preciso dates are not required, the effort needed to properly respond to your request will include:
1.
A thorough search of licensing correspondence which documents the scope of each item.
2.
A search of the licensees files which would document the actions taken to implement each line item contained in the licensing correspondence.
3.
A physical verification that the documented actions described have been compl eted.
The above tasks represent a substantial effort, possibly several man years, and would require a redirection of available resources.
Until recently the NRC has not identified the MPA number to Licensees when j
corresponding to them on these issues. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to determine what NRC or Licensee correspondence applies to each item.
In addition, while we have been provided with brief descriptions of many MPAs, the descriptions are in many cases not useful because they do not contain specific information. Also several of the MPAs lack even summary descriptions.

Based on the above we are unable to respond to your request by May 31, 1986.
We request that you provide us with additional clarification as described on the attached list. The clarifications should be provided to us informally in order to expedite completion of this task.
Within 30 days of the receipt of the additional clarifications, we will provide you with a schedule for responding to your request and a more accurate estimate of the effort necessary to fulfill it.
