PORTSMOUTH GASEOUS DIFFUSION PLANT CERTIFICATE AMENDMENT REQUEST: EXT 'NSION OF COMPLETION DATES IN ISSUE A.4 OF THE COMPLIANCE PL ~ N (TAC NO. L32105)

Dear Mr. Miller:

In accordance with your application dated October 14,1998, and pursuant to Part 76 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Certificate of Compliance GDP-2 is hereby amended by extending three completion dates contained in Issue A.4 entitled " Possession of Uranium Enriched to Greater than 10% 85U" of the " Plan for Achieving Compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulations at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant" DOE /ORO-2027/R3 (Compliance Plan). Accordingly, Condition 8 has been revised to include the date of October 14,1998. This amendment becomes effective upon issuance.

Please note that the brief description of the amendment in the Federal Register Notice (FRN) that was transmitted to you by letter dated December 2,1998, erroneously indicated the new l completion data for cylinder cleaning to be March 31,1999, instead of March 31,2000. l

~ However, this error was corrected before the FRN was published in the Federal Register on December 9,1998.

All other conditions of this certificate shall remain the same.

Enclosed is a copy of the revised Certificate of Compliance.
