I am responding to your letters of October 8,1998, and November 24,1998, in which you j
requested changes to your Final Status Survey and Release Plan for the Northwest

CaF Area (FSS Plan). The FSS plan was approved by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory 2
i Commission by a letter dated April 16,1996. The revisions to the FSS Plan involve changes to the following Sectior,s: Section 4.3 Gamma Radiation Scanning Survey, Section 4.4 Exposure Rate Survey, and Section 4.5 Soil Sampling. Based on our review, we have datermined that j
the requested changes meet the intent of NUREG/CR-5649 (Manual for Conducting Radiological Surveys in Support of License Termination) and are, therefore, acceptable.
