20555 NRC DOCKEIS 50-321, 50-366 OPERATING LICENSES DPR-57, NPF-5 EIMIN I. HA'ICH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1, 2 PROPOSED ATIS 'IECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS - ADDITIONAL INFOINATION Gentlenen:
Following receipt of our June 14, 1984, letter which transmitted revised responses to NRC staff questions on proposed ATIS Technical Specification changes, the staff has asked for clarification of one sentence in our response to question 1-2.
%e _ sentence in question is repeated from our June 14, 1984, response:
"%e additional hardware associated with the RPS portion of the NI'IS systen is no more susceptible to failures than the non-ATIS associated with RPS."
he point of clarification requested by the NRC staff was whether this sentence meant that the additional hardware associated with the RPS portion of the ATIS systen "is no more susceptible to failures than the equipnent it
- replaced." 7n fact, that statsnent
"... is no more susceptible to failure is a subset of the more encczopassing
- than the equipt.ent it. replaced" response provided in' our June 14, 1984 letter which also addressed other equipnent in the RPS systen.
