Dear Sergeant Woods:
I am writing in reference to a telephone conversation that took place on October 28,1997, between you and Patricia Vacherton, a staff member of the Medical, Academic, and Commercial Use Safety Branch,0"ce of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards. It is my understanding that during this phone conversation, Ms. Vacherion explained the selection procedures for choosing new members for advisory committees associated with the U.S.
~ Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Ms. Vacherion asked if you would be interested in serving on the screening panel for reviewing and rating the nominations received for the position of patients' rights and care advocate and you stated your interest in serving on the panel. On behalf of the Commission, I am inviting you to serve on this screening panel. I would like the panel to convene within six weeks of the receipt of this letter.
