ADMISSION OR DENIAL OF THE ALLEGE 0 VIOLATION i

South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) is in agreement with the alleged violation.

II.

REASON FOR THE VIOLATION A special one time training class was conducted for key emergency response personnel relative to the new fission product barrier method of event classification in accordance with procedure EPP-018; however, one Management Duty Supervisor was unable to attend the class and was not rescheduled for training at a later date.

CORRECTIVE STEPS TAKEN AND RESULTS ACHIEVED l

The' licensee has taken the following corrective action. The subject individual received the required training on March 14, 1986 and demonstrated an acceptable knowledge level.

IV.

CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO AVOID FURTHER VIOLATION l

The failure to reschedule the training was an isolated case since the remaining key personnel received their training; however, the Site Emergency Coordinator (SEC) has been assigned the responsibility to assure that when special Emergency Planning training is required the designated personnel are scheduled for training, attend the session (s), and successfully complete the training. Designated l

personnel will be required to notify the SEC whenever they are unable l-to attend training in order that their training can be rescheduled.

In addition,-the new fission product barrier method is now part of the j

-annual Emergency Planning Training Program.

action as of March 14, 1986.
