The NRC recently received an allegation that three or four personnel employed at the Byron Nuclear Generating Station were being treated for drug abuse problems, and that these individuals have stated that drug abuse was somewhat commonplace by employees working at Byron. We are unable to provide you with more specific information, but are providing this information for action, as you may determine to be appropriate. Should your review bring into question any safety issue, we expect that the issue will be promptly brought to our attention.

Inasmuch as no specific regulatory requirement is involved in this area, we are hereby closing our file on this matter.
