In accordance with the amendment application dated May 6,1988, and supplement  !

dated October 28, 1988, and pursuant to title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 70. Materials License No. SNM-1977 is hereby amended to authorize the receipt, possession, use, and storage of uranium enriched in the U-235 isotope contained in fuel assemblies. Condition 6.0, 7.D. 8.D. 17, 18 and 19 have been added and Conditions 9 and 10 have been revised as follows:

6.D Uranium enriched 7.D U0p in reactor 8.D 2,600 kg U-235 up to 3.80 w/o in fuel assemblies the U-235 isotope

9. The licensee is authorized to receive, possess, use, and store uranium in accordance with the statements, representations, and conditions in the ifcensee's application dated October 27, 1987, and supplements
dated May 6 and October 28, 1988,
10. The authorized place of use is the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2, which is located in Limerick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

! 17. Personnel who are involved in handling fuel assemblies shall be trained in fuel handling procedures prior to the initiation of fuel handling activities.

10. Not more than 250 loaded metal RA containers shall be on the refueling floor at any one time.

Enclosed are NRC Materials License No. SNM.1977, which has been revised in its entirety, and a copy of our Safety Evaluation Report.

Also enclosed are two copies of Amendment No. 3 to Indemnity Agreement No.

B.101 for your review and acceptance. Please return one signed copy.

The Nuclear Pegulatory Comission (NRC) uses an electronic data processing system to record the location, by licensee, of special nuclear material. This system uses a three-letter Peporting Identification System (RIS) to identify licensees who submit material transfer reports and periodic material status reports in accordance with 10 CFR 70.54 of the Comission's regulations. For this purpose, you should continue to use RIS:XIS previously assigned to you.

The symbol should be used in completing the transfer reports and periodic raterial status reports and should be used in any other correspondence with NRC relative to such reports. You should also note the requirements of 70.51(b), (c), and (d) regarding recurds, raterial control and accounting procedures, and physical inventories. Ycur cooperation will be appreciated.

l This trendment is issued following preparation of an Environmental Assessr;ent l related to the proposed actien. Based on this assessrent, a Finding of No I Significant Impact has been prepared and approved pursuant to 10 CFR Part 51.

Copics of this Finding, which was published in the Federal Register on November 16, 1988, and the supporting Environmental Assessment are enclosed.
