NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-443/98-06
Dear Mr. Feigenbaum:
On October 3,1998,the NRC completed an inspection at Seabrook Station. The enclosed
report contains the details of that inspection.
The plant was operated safely during the period. Operators responded well to prevent the
closing of a main steam isolation valve during surveillance testing. Maintenance and
engineering personnel provided good plant support, particularly in response to a service
water pump failure, in addition, we found that you continued to implement effective
radiological, environmental and meteorological monitoring prograrns. No cited violations
were identified this period, however, we observed instances where plant personnel were
slow to initiate adverse condition reports. Your continued strong rnanagement attention to
this area is warranted.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
