Inspection Report 50-353/88-10
This letter transmits our report of the routine resident safety inspection by
Messrs. R. A. Gramm and R. L. Fuhrmeister on April 11, 1988 to May 22, 1988 at
the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2, Limerick, Pennsylvania of activities
authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-107 and to the discussions held by the
inspector with Mr. J. M. Corcoran and other members of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed NRC
Region I Inspection Report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews
with personnel and observations by the inspectors.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that an activity was not
conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in the Notice
of Violation enclosed as Appendix A.
Examination of a General Electric
designed instrument rack found that the weld configuration did not conform
to the design drawing requirements. This violation has been categorized by
sev"-ity level in accordance with the NRC Enforcement policy (10 CFR 2,
Apr dix C).
A response to this report is required by 10 CFR 2.201.
Please follow the
instructions in Appendix A in the preparation of your response.
The response
directed by Appendix A, Notice of Violation, is not subject to the clearance
procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as rer,uired by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
