. NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
' Month: May, 1988 Catawba Unit 1 began the month of May operating at 100% full power. The unit reduced power to 89% on 5/14 and to 90% on 5/16 to perform Control Valve Movement Tests. The unit then operated at 100% power until 0904 on 5/21, when power was reduced to 95% due to Steam Generator Feedwater Control Valve problems. The unit remained at 95% power until 0843 on 5/26, returning to 100%
power at 1058 on 5/26. The unit then operated at 100% power for the remainder of the month.

s NARRATIVE SUMMAP's Month: May, 1988 Ca*,awba Unit 2 began'the month of May in a Maintenance Outage to repair an Exciter Field Ground. '!he; unit returned to service on 5/03 at 1636 and reached 100% power'at 2330 on 5/04, following several startup related power holds. The unit was then, reduced in power several times from 5/14 through 5/23, to help the Dispatcher' iaeet lrdnimum system loads. At 1405 en 5/27, the Reactor tripped due to a loss of power to the "2B" Main Feedwater Pump Turbine.
