ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF REQUEST FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT (TAC 50118)
Dear Mr. Rosenthal:
I am responding to your letter dated October 13,1998, which forwarded your justification for requesting that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) amend Special Nuclear Materials License SNM-2001 to require that BWX Technologies submit a decommissioning plan for the Shallow Land Disposal Area (SLDA) in Parks Township, PA, by December 6,2000, for NRC staff review and approval. We have completed the initial processing of your request, which is an administrative review.
We have determined that the information provided in the document is sufficient to begin the technical review. Please note that the review may identify omissions in the submitted information or technical issues not identified during the administrative review that require additional information. We will inform you separately of our schedule for completing the technical review.
A copy of your correspondence has been forwarded to our License Fee and Accounts Receivable Branch, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, which will contact you separately if the appropriate license fee has not been submitted for your request, or for billing, if your request is subject to full cost recovery.
