Duke Energy Corporation Catawba Nuclear Station Docket No. 50-413 and 50-414 1998 UFSAR Update TAC Nos. M99322 and M99323 Pursuant to 10CFR 50.71(e), please find enclosed the original and ten copies of the text portion of UFSAR Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 from the 1998 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for Catawba Nuclear Station. The previous revision (UFSAR Revision 6) of these two Chapters was mistakenly transmitted in our April 8, 1998 transmittal of the 1998 UFSAR Update (UFSAR Revision 7). Please update your copies per the attached list of instructions.
The effective date of the changes provided by this submittal is October 24, 1998.

Catawba Nuclear Station 1998 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report Distribution Code CADM-01 The October 1998 Catawba Updated Final Safety Analysis Report was distributed on April 8, 1999.
It has been discovered that the previous revision of the text portion of Chapter 2 " Site Characteristics" and Chapter 3 " Design O
Criteria" was mistakenly transmitted instead of the current revision.
Manual holders should update their manual as indicated by the attachment.
