ACCEPTANCE REVIEW OF THE WESFLEX TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM APPLICATION (TAC NO. L22647)

Dear Mr. Quinn:

On May 29,1998, as supplemented, Westinghouse Electric Corporation submitted an application for approval of the Wesfiex Transportation System under the provisions of 10 CFR Part 71. In support of this application, you submitted the following Safety Analysis Reports (SARs):

' Wesfiex W125 Cask Transportation Safety Analysis Report (WSNF-100) submitted on May 29,1998, and supplemented on June 8 and September 15,1998 Wesflex W21 Canister Transportation Safety Analysis Report (WSNF-101) submitted on June 19,1998, and supplemented on September 17,1998 Wesfiex W44 Canister Transportation Safety Analysis Report (WSNF-102) submitted on June 12,1998, and supplemented on September 22,1998 Wesfiex W74 Canister Transportation Safety Analysis Report (WSNF-103) {

submitted on May 29,1998, and supplemented on June 8 and September 25,1998 The staff has completed its acceptance review of the above SARs and determined that they are g acceptable for review. Tentatively, we wiU begin our review of your transportation application after completing our review of your Wesflex Storage System application (TAC No. L22575).

Your application was accompanied by affidavits requesting that cerialn information in the SARs be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790. The staffis still reviewing your request and has not yet determined whether all or part of the identified information should be withheld. We willinform you of our determination in separate correspondence.
