10 CFR PART 74 NRC TEAM INSPECTION The purpose of this letter is to announce an NRC team inspection which will be conducted at your facility during the period September 26-30, 1988, by members of the Region !! office and accompanied by a member of the Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards. This inspection is being conducted to evaluate your material control and accounting program for special nuclear materials pursuant to 10 CFR 74.31. The enclosure to this letter identifies the projected team members and their assigned areas of inspection. We request that you assign cognizant members of your staff as individual points of contact for each team member baserl upon the identified areas of inspection.

We would like to have an entrance meeting with appropriate members of your staff at 10:00 a.m. on September 26, 1988, to provide information concerning the scope of the inspection and to introduce some members of the inspection team. Other members of the team will be arriving on site at approximately '

2:00 p.m. At the entrance treeting you may wish to provide a short briefing by members of your staff on natters relating to our inspection efforts in the j identified areas of inspection. During this inspection we would like the use of a roon, such as a conference room, of sufficient size to accomodate the NRC inspection team.
