Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Proposed Technical Specification Change Number 485 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 Enclos4d are Amendment Application Numbers 173 and 159 to facility Licenses NPF-10 and NPF-15, respectively, for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3.
These Amendment Applications consist of Proposed Change Number 485 (PCN 485) to the San Onofre Units 2 and 3 Technical Specifications, which is provided as an Enclosure to this letter.
Proposed Change 485 will add a Surveillance Requirement to Technical Specification 3.3.9, " Control Room Isolation Signal (CRIS)."
The new Surveillance Requirement will provide for response time testing of CRIS to ensure compliance with the design basis and 10 CFR 50, Appendix A, General Design Criterion 19.
Southern California Edison requests this amendment be issued effective as of its date of issuance, to be implemented within 30 days from the date of issuance. This will provide adequate time for the necessary procedure changes and training on the new Technical Specifications.
