Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Technical Specification Change Request No.174 Pursuant to 10CFP.50.90, GPU Nuclear Corporation, ow 1tr and operator of the Oystr.r Creek Nuclcar Generating Station, requests a change to Appendix A of its operating license.
The requested change would allcw removing the High Pressure Scram function wnen the reactor head is removed or unholted. This change is necessary to install new analog pressure sensors during the upcoming refuMing cutage (12R).
As presently scheduled, the analog sensor installation will not be completed when low power physics testing commences. These two evolutions will be conducted simultaneously. As the analog sensor replace:nent is already in the critical maintenance load path, rescheduling the low power physics testing would extend the refueling outage unnecessarily. To support the timely completion of the outage, it is requested that, if approved, this change be issued effective November 15, 1988.
