(NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-302/88-24)
This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Comission (NRC) inspcation conducted by
P. Holmes-Ray on July 16 - August 12, 1988. ~Ihe inspection inc1"ded a review
of activities authorized for your Crystal River facility. At the conclusion of
the inspection, the findings were discussed wich those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures

and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
,
activities in progress.

The inspection findings indicate that certain activities appeared to violate
NRC requirements.
The violations, references to pert 1nent requirements, and
,
elements to be included in your response.are described in the enclosed Notice
of Violation.
Your attention is invited to the unresolved items identified in the inspection
report.
These issues are potentially significant to the plant design bases in
a cumulative manner and warrant your attention.
They concern incoming
technical vendor information that may rot have been appropriately controlled
and evaluated in regard to their effect on the functionality of the applicable
,

components and systems (paragraphs 8 and 9).
These matters will be pursued

during future inspections,
