20555 SUBJEC1: COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)
DOCKET N0. 50-445 ASME SECTION XI VT-2 EXAMINATIONS DURING CPSES UNIT 1 HEATUP Gentlemen:
This is to confirm our verbal commitment at the exit meeting on August 4, 1988, that TV Electric will perform certain additional examinations during the CPSES Unit 1 system functional testing /heatup in order to provide additional assurance that ASME Section XI repairs and modifications have been tested properly.
The additional inspections shall be conducted using VT-2 visual examinations of accessible ASME Code Class piping greater than 1" nominal pipe diameter and aerformed in accordance with the provisions of ASME Section XI (1983 Edition t1 rough Summer 1983 Addenda) by appropriately qualified and certified examiners.
The examinations shall be performed in accordance with approved procedures.
The results of the system examinations shall be certified on Form NIS-2, "0wner's Report for Repairs or Replacements".
