Memo from L. W. Zech, to W. Kerr dtd. 4/28/88, "ACRS Letter Regarding the Review of Shutdown Nuclear Power Plants" During the 337th meeting, May 5-7, 1988, the ACRS decided that it plans to review the proposed restart of the Pilgrim Nuclear Station and the Peach Bottom Nuclear Plant before they are authorized to restart by the NRC. I'll keep you informed regarding any additional plants the Committee decides to review, Consistent with the attached memo from Chairman Zech, it would be desirable to know when the NRC Staff will be prepared to discuss their position regarding the corrective actions needed and/or taken to permit restart of these nuclear plants. We can then plan to schedule appro-priate subcommittee meetings, etc. so the ACRS can provide comments to the Commissioners sufficiently ahead of the time for a Commission vote on the restart of these plants.

If you will provide me with your best estimate of the date by which the Staff will be ready for ACRS review, it would permit us to schedule ACRS activities so we do not delay Commission action regarding this matter.
