Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-293/86-02
A routine radiological safety inspection was conducted by Mr. R. L. Nimitz on
January 13-17, 1986 of your Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. The findings of
the inspection were discussed with you and members of your staff.
The inspection covered implementation of your Radiological Improvement Pro-
gram, radiological controls for fuel pool re-racking and radwaste concentrator
removal, and calibration and testing of area radiation monitors.
Within the scope of the inspection no violations were identified.
Three apparent violations identified by your staff were also reviewed during
this inspection. The establishment and implementation of your long term
corrective actions for these apparent violations will be reviewed during
a subsequent inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
