PILGRIM SAFETY EVALUATION OF FIRE DOOR-TO-FRAME, FRAME-TO-WALL AND ANCHOR BOLT IRREGULARITIES

REFERENCE:

TAC Number 67908 By letter dated February 3,1988 (BECo 88-018) you provided the NRC staff with technical evaluations of Pilgrim fire door-to-frame and frame-to-wall gaps, as well as fire door frame anchor bolting irregularities. The evaluations establish acceptance criteria to ensure the doors provide the required fire protection, which was a subject of our fire protection meeting with your staff on November 24, 1987.

We have completed our review of your submittal and find that your evaluation and acceptance criteria are adequate to ensure that the required fire p.otection will be provided. We therefore consider this item and TAC 67908 closed.

We have enclosed a copy of our Safety Evaluation for your information.
