NOTICE OF VIOLATION  :

I As a result of the inspection conducted on July 11 through September 6,1988,

! and in accordance with the "General Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement 1 Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1988), the following violation was l

4 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Criterion XI, states, in part that a test program l shall be established to assure that all testing required to demonstrate that l

} rystems and cemponents will perforra satisfactorily in service is identified  ;

. W performed in accordance with written test procedures which incorporate the r;,quirements and acceptance limits contained in applicable design dor.uments, i Contrary to the above, the licensee failed to assure that all testing required ,

j to demonstrate the newly installed Wide Range Monitors would perform  ;

. satisfact>rily in service, in that, the instrutrents were not tested using s detector current values which were appropriate to those found at ths l

facility, j This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement I).

j The inspection showed that actions had been taken to correct the identified ,

j violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation -

1 is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.  !
