SUMMARY
Month:
April, 1988 McGuire Unit 1 began the month of April operating at 100% full power. At 1430 on 04/12, power was reduced to 98% when all heater bleed steam and steam drain valves closed due to a ground on a heater drain valve. The unit then returned to 100% power at. 1824 on 4/12. At 1033 on 4/16, the unit was removed from service following loss of power to a S/G Feedwater Regulating valve. The unit returned to service at 0503 on 4/17, reaching 60% power at 1333 the same day, where power was held per Dispatcher request. The unit resumed power escalation at 0000 on 4/18, held power at 95% from 0300 to 0400 on 4/18 for Nuclear Instrumentation Calibration, and reacheo 100% power at 0700 on 4/18.
The unit then operated at 100% power for the remainder of the month.
