Thfs refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. C. Stewart of this office

during the period July 25-29 and August 15-19, 1988, of activities authorized I

by NRC Operati N License DRP-40 for Fort Calhoun Station, and to the discussion  ;

of our findings with you and other members of your staff at the conclusion of j

the inspection.

The area examined during the inspection was the Inservice Testing (IST) Program  !

for pumps and valves. Within this area, the inspection consisted of selective j

examination of procedures and resresentative records, interviews with  ;

personnel, and observations by tie NRC inspector. The inspection findings are [

documented in the enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were in I

violation of NRC requirements. Since corrective action was initiated,

completed, and verified by the NRC inspector prior to the completion of this  !

inspection, no written response is necessary. l

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously r

,

identified inspection findings. The status of these items is identified in

paragraph 2 of the enclosed report. [
