Unserviceable describes the condition of a tube if it leaks or contains a oefect large enou to affect its structural integrity in the event of an rating Basis Earthquake, a loss-of-coolant accident, of a steam line or feedvater line break as specified in 4.45.3.c, above.

Tube Inspection means an inspection of the steam generator tube from the point of entry (hot leg side) completely around the U-bend to the top support of the cold leg.

Sleeve Inspoetion means an inspection of the sleeved portion of the tube.
nts inspection will include 3 inches of the parent tube directly above the upper weld, the upper weld which forts the new pressure boundary, and the sleeve material below th,9 upper weld.

Repaired tube means a tube that has undergone afprocess that re-estan11shes its serviceability.

[n.5e.( 7 Steam Generator tubes may be repaired by the installation of a sleeve.
The designs of the sleeves shall be reviewed and approved by the NRC prior to their use in the repair of steam generator tubes.
The Combustion Engineering, Inc. weld sleeve process may be used per report CEN-337-P; however, other designs may be utilized subject to NRC approval.
