Dear Mr. Procrka:

l

SUBJECT:

RESPONSETOGENERICLETTER68-05(TACH 0s.68927,68928,69176)

Or. Parch 17, 1908, the NRC staff issued Generic Letter 88-05, "Boric Acid Corrosion cf Carbon Steel Reactor Econdary Corponents in TVR Plants." In this letter we req 2ested that you provide assurances that a program has been inplenented at the Faddam Neck Plant and F111 stone Unit Nos. 2 and 3 that addresses the corresive effects of reactor coolant system leakage at less l

than technical specification limits. The generic letter identified fcur censideraticos which your program should include.

In a letter dated Fay F7,1988, you responded to Generic Letter 60-05,

{

describing your preventative reintenance program which provides detailed t

action plans for the detertaination of leakage, evaluation of the severity, and disposition of potentici darage due to reactor ccolant leakage en pressure-containing corponents. Pe find that you have provided assurance that a program is in place dealtrg with boric acid leakage that potentially cculd affect the integrity of the reactor coolant pressure bcundary.

This fulfills > cur requirement in restcoding to Generic Letter 88 05.

As discussed in Generic Letter 08-05, you should maintain, in auditable fore, reccrds of the program and results ot>tained from irplerentation of the progrm. Itese records r.ay te subject to future auditing.

This ccepletes cur effort under TAC N0s. 69176, 68927, and 68978 i

Sincerely, 1

Original Sige.ed By l
