This refers to the Nuclear Ecgulatory Cocmission (hRC) inspection conducted
by W. Ordcrs, D. helsor., and R. Croteau on July 23, - August 19, 1988.
The inspection included a icview of activities authorized for your McGuire
facility.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed
with those rebers of your staff identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined durin9 the inspection are identified in the report.
Within

these areas, the inspection consisted of selective exaninations of procedures
and represer,tative recrrds, interviews with persenrel, and observation of
activities in progress.
The inspection findings indicate that certain activities cFpcared to violate
NRC requirements.
The violation, references to pertinent requirerents, and
elements to te included in your respcose are descrited in the enclosed Notice
of Violation.
Your attention is invitrd to tre unresolved iters identified in the inspection
report. These riatters w'.ll be pursued during future inspections.
In accordance with tectien 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Proctice," Part 2,
