Dear Mr. McCarthy:

Subject:

Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator Licensing Examinations i

3 In a telephone conva.rsation on August 24, 1988 between Mr. Dick Mette, Supervisor of Operations Training, and Mr. Philip Morrill Operator Examiner,  ;

arrangements were made for the administration cf the examinations at the t j SONGS Unit 1.

2 ,

, The written exatainations are schedulad for November 29, 1988. The plant oral ,

"Reference Material Requirements for Reactor / Senior Reactor Operator  !

y Licensing Examinations," by October 7, 1988. Any delay in receiving procerly '

i bound and indexed reference raterial will result in a delay in administering l l the examinations. Our examinations are scheduled far in advance with

] considerable planning to utilize our present limited examiner manpower and ,

3 to meet the examination dates requested by the various facilities.

l Therefore, missing the October 7, 1988 deadline, even by a few days, likely

  • i will result in a long delay because it ray not be possible to reschedule >

) examinations at other facilities. Mr. Mette has been advised of cur rcference 4

material sets that are required, and the examiner's names and addresses where '

I each set is to be mailed, i

l The facility management is responsible for providing adequate space and accouredations in order to properly condue; the written examinations.

  • Enclosur9 2, "Requirements for Administration of k'ritten Examinations," ,

describes our requirements for conducting these examinations. Mr. Mette has also been informed of these requirements.
