Enclosed is a copy of the Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact l related to your application for amendments dated August 8,1997, as supplemented by letters I dated March 9, May 6, July 6, July 31, September 4, and September 11,1998, and letter dated April 17,1997, which was provided in advance of your application. The proposed amendments would allow an increase in the maximum thermal power (MWt) at the Edwin I.

Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, from 2558 MWt to 2763 MWt, representing a power l increase of approximately 8 percent. The staff's draft environmental assessment was published in the Federal Reaister on August 27,1998 (63 FR 45874) for public comment. No comments were received.

The assessment is being forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
