Your letters of May 15 and September 10, 1986, and March 2, 1987, pertaining to Clinton, contained your response to IEB 85-03, "Motor-Operated Valve Comon Mode Failures During Plant Transients Due to improper Switch Settings". The review of these responses led to the issuance of a request for additional infont.ation on March 25, 1988, and response by you on May 16, 1988.
Review of this additional information indicates that your selection of the applicable safety-related valves, the valves' maximum differential pressures and your program to assure valve operability requestad by action item e. of the bulletin is now acceptable.
The results of our inspections to verify proper implementation of this program and the review of the final response required by action item f. of the bulletin will be addressed in forthcoming inspection reports.
