ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCE - BRUNSWlcK UNITS 1 AND 2 DOCKET N05. 50-325 and 50-324 This confirms the telephone conver;ation between J. L. Harness ot' your staff and P. E. Fredrickson of my staff on August 16, 1988, concerning an Enforcement Conference at the Region II Office, Atlanta, Georgia on September 8, 1988, at 9:00 a.m.
We had requested this meeting to discuss: (1) recenth discovered instrument installation deficiencies and non-cons /rvatisms in the instrument settings associated with High Pressure Coolant Injection (HPCI)/ Reactor Core Isolation Cooling (RCIC) high steam line flow isolation; (2) apparent inadequate corrective action related to operability of safety-related DC motor operated valves; and (3) electrical switchboard operability as it relates to the apparent inadequacy of actions taken to identify and correct silicon bronze i
bolt failures.
This meeting had been previously rescheduled from July 7, to July 20, 1988, on your request.
However, as the scope broadened due to additional safety-related concerns a second rescheduling became necessary.
Should you have any questions regarding these arrangements, we will be pleased to discuss them.
