LICENSE AMENDMENT FOR SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL SAFEGUARDS Pursuant to the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, and Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1. Part 70, the following amendment to the special nuclear material license identified below is hereby issued, incorporating specific safeguards requirements for special nuclear material.

9.0 PHYSICAL PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL OF MODERATE STRATEGIC SIGNIFICANCE.

9.1 The licensee shall follow the physical protection plan titled "Physical Security Plan, (White Oak Site), March 1988 Revision," dated March 25, 1988; and as it may be further revised in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 70.32(e). ;j 9.2 In addition to the items stated in the subject physical security plan for  !

73.67(d)(3) by monitoring the controlled access area (Building 108) with an intrusion alarm or other device or procedures to detect unauthorized penetration or activities. During the interim, while the intrusion detec-tion system is being linked to a monitoring station, a guard or watchman equipped with comunications shall be posted at Building 108. The guards shall be posted so that they have direct site of the building doors and the visual annunciation device. These additional measures shall terminate once the physical security plan is modified to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 73.67(d)(3).
