Inspection Report No. 50-309/85-34 (Followup on PAT Inspection Report
50-309/85-15)
This transmits the November 5 - December 31, 1985, resident inspection findings
by Mr. C. Holden and Mr. J. Robertson of this office, at the Maine Yankee Atomic
Power Station, Wiscasset, Maine.
Those findings were based on observation of ac-
tivities, interviews, and document reviews, and have been discussed with Mr. Garrity
of your staff.
The specific areas examined during this inspection, which are enclosed with this
letter, are the Unresolved Items described in Performance Assessment Team (PAT)
Inspection Report 50-309/85-15, to which this is a follow up.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that five of the Unresolved
Items, identified in the PAT inspection report, are violations as set forth in the
Notice of Violation, enclosed as Appendix A.
Two of these items were combined into
one violation to give a total of four violations.
Adequate corrective actions for
portions of these violations have been completed and reviewed during this inspec-
tion and no reply is necessary for these.
Corrective actions for the remaining
items (concerning drawing control and maintenance & test equipment) have not been
completed.
You are required to respond to this letter, and in preparing your re-
sponse you should follow the instructions in Appendix A where items requiring a
reply are identified.
