1. Section 6.2 - Containment Systems l

1

a. Section 6.2.1, l

l Paragraph two, first sentence, states that "The RHR system is designed for a normal operating pressure of 600 psig". This sentence should be revised to read "The RHR system design pressure is 600 psig" [ Reference NYN-87069, dated May 20, 1987].

b. Section 6.2.2 "tradraph three states that the identified leakage was

" . . .through check valve V-25 and/o r V-26. . .". For con-sistency purposes, the quoted phrase should be revised to read "... through check valves V-25, V-26, V-55, and/or V-56. . ." (Ref erence NYN-87085, dated July 1,1987) .

c. Section 6.2.2.1 Paragraph one, under "Short Term Actions", states "...the che ck valves were disman tled . . . .". For clarity, the quoted phrase should be revised to read "...the check valves (V-25, V-26, V-5 5, and V-56) were dis man tled , . . . ".
d. Section 6.2.2.1 Paragraph five, under "Short Term Actions", states in the first sentence "... applicant will provide...". To maintain consistency with item 3 in Section 6.2.2.2 this sentence should be revised to read "... applicant has provided...".
e. Section 6.2.2.1 The proposed outline of the operating procedure referred to in the sixch paragraph under "Short Term Actior.s" (pages 6-2, 6-3) has been incorporated into Abnormal Procedure OS 1206.01.
f. Section 6.2.2.1 Paragraph six, under "Short Term Actions", states the high-pressure alarm setpoint as being 350 psig. For purposes of clarity, NHY will use a setpoint of less than or equal to 350 psig.
g. Section 6.2.2.1 Item 2, under "Long-Term Actions", states that one of the long-term plant design nodifications being evaluated is "Upgrade the CBS and RHR suction piping design pressures".

This statement should be revised to read "... Upgrade the CBS system to RHR system suction conditions.. .". [ Reference-NYN-87069, dated May 20, 1987).

h. Section 6.2.2.2

' Item 2 states that the CBS piping was evaluated under design, upset and faulted plant conditions. It should also be stated-that the CBS piping was evaluated under emergency plant con-ditions. (Reference NYN-87069, dated May 20, 1987).

2. Section 18.2 -' Safety Parameter Display System (TMI Action Plan Item I.D.2)

Board Findings 43 and 44 (page 18-3) required New Hampshire Yankee (NHY) to perform a man-in-the-loop evaluation to identif y and correct-any problems concerning the usefulness of the SPDS lower-level dis-plays before startup following the first refueling outage. PSNH letter NYN-87026, dated March 6,1987, stated that NHY has perforraed this evaluation and did not identify any concerns or drawbacks with respect to the usefulness of the display formats. This evaluation also determined that the display formats are consistent with the Seabrook Station emergency operating procedure sets and the hard copy status trees are identical to those displayed on the CRT.

Accordingly, completion of this activity should be reflected in the next supplement to the SER.

3. Appendix C, USI A Westinghouse SG Tube Integrity The discussion on Steam Generator Tube Integrity should be revised to indicate that Seabrook Station does not utilize full flow de-mineralizers.
4. Appendix V - Technical Evaluation Report, Review of Charcoal Filter Fire Protection, Franklin Research Center
a. Section 2.2.1 and Section 3 l

The charcoal filter unit identified in this section as CBA-F-8 should be identified as CBA-F-38. This was iden-tified as an editorial error in an earlier submittal and corrected by NYN-88007, dated January 22, 1988.  !

b. Section 2.2.1 (1) Paragraph one, second sentence, add the "contro1~

building" to the identified filter locations. j (2) Paragraph, four should be revised to state that fil- 1 te rs E AH-F-9, E AH-F-69, F AH-F-41, F AH-F-7 4, CAP-F-40, and PAH-F-16 are charcoal bed-type filters four (4) inches deep. Filters CBA-F-38 and CAH-F-8 are tray-type with two (2) inch deep beds.

- _ _ _- _ _ , _ , , __~ _ . _ - -m_, ,~ .

(3) Paragraph six should be revised to read, "All of the filter units have ready access to the charcoal by doors located on one side of the unit with access to either side of each charcoal bank".
