SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-424/88-19
Thank you for your response of July 18, 1988, to our Notice of Violation issued
on June 21, 1988, concerning activities conducted at your Vogtle facility. We
have evaluated your response and found that it meets the requirements of
10 CFR 2.201. We will examine the implementation of yo;r corrective actions
during future inspections.

REPLY TO A NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Gentlemen:
In accordance with the provisions of 10CFR2.201, Georgia Power Company
(GPC) submits the enclosed information in response to NRC Inspection
Report 50-424/88-19 which concerns the inspection conducted by Mr.
W.
J. Tobin of the NRC Region II staff on April 25 - 19, 1988.
A copy of
this response is being provided to the NRC Region II office for review.
We believe that Item Number 3 of the "Report Details" for the
Inspection Report 50-424/88-19 (as submitted by NRC Region II letter
dated June 21, 1988) incorrectly refers to 88-14-01 as 88-14-06.
The
description of this violation presented in paragraph 5 is in fact a
description of violation 88-14-01.
In each of the enclosures, a transcription of the NRC violation
precedes the GPC response.
The information contained in the enclosures is safeguards information
and, in accordance with 10CFR2.790 and 10CFR73.21, should not be placed
in the NRC Public Document Room.
Should there be any questions in this regard, please contact this
office at any time.
