Virgil C. Sumer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Operating License No. NPF-12 Integrated Leakage Rate Testing Gentlemen:
South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) hereby requests Nuclear Regulatory Comission approval to perform a short duration Integrated Leakage Rate Test (ILRT) (Type A - Periodic) at the Virgil C. Sumer Nuclear Str. tion.
The short duration test will be performed in accordance with Bechtel Topical Report BN-TOP-1, Revision 1, dated November 1, 1972, "Testing Criteria for Integrated Leakage Rate Testing of Primary Containment Structures for Nuclear Power Plants." The test will also conform to Technical Specifications, 10CFR50 Appendix J, and ANSI N45.4-1972. Additionally, approval to utilize the Mass Point Analysis technique of ANSI 56.8-1981 is also requesteJ.
Please provide your response as soon as possible.
The Virgil C. Su nmer Nuclear Station ILRT is presently scheduled for the fourth refuelir,g outage scheduled to begin in September, 1988.
