4 ATTACHMENT NO SIGNIFICANT H AZARDS DETERMINATION Based on the following evaluation, SCE&G has determined the proposed change does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
- 1) Does the proposed change involve a significantincrease in the probability or consequences of an accic.ent previously evaluated? NO The pro, osed amendment does not involve a significant increase in the probability or consequences of an accident previously evaluated because the only change is a reduction in frequency and severity of diesel generator test starts which will result in less wear and stress on engine parts. This will decrease the probability of an accident due to failure of engme parts, and the consequences of an accident will not change.
- 2) Does the proposed change create the possibility of a new or different kind of accident from any accident previously evaluated?
NO The proposed amendment does not create the possibility of a new kind of accident from any accident previously evaluated because the design and function of the diesel generator will not change.
- 3) Does the proposed change involve a significant reduction in a margin of safety?'
NO The proposed amendment does not involve a significant reduction in the mar gin of safety because there will be no change in response times or emergency loac s assumed in the accident analysis.
