Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Operating License No. NPF-12 ASME Section XI Hydrostatic Testing of Steam Generator Blowdown System Relief Request Gentlemen:
In a letter from Mr. D. A. Nauman to the NRC dated March 30, 1988 South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) requested relief from the ASME Code Section XI hydrostatic testing requirements for the Steam Generator Blowdown System. This relief was needed to support a modification to the blowdown system scheduled to be performed during the upcoming fall refueling outage.
However, due to material procurement problems, this modification has been rescheduled for the spring 1990 refueling outage. Therefore, SCE&G is requesting that the relief be granted to support the 1990 refueling outage and not the September 1988 outage as originally requested.
