Barton to USNRC Document Control Desk In accordance with 10CFR73.55, GPU Nuclear submitted on December 2,1986 a proposed amendment to the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Physical Security Plan for NRC review and approval (Reference 1).
The proposed security plan was written to define how GPU Nuclear will comply with the i.ew requirements of 10CFR73.55 referred to as Miscellaneous Amendments and Search Requirements.
By letter dated September 4,1987 (Reference 2), the NRC identified additional commitments and clarifications needed in the plan before approval could be granted. Accordingly, those changes were made and the plan was re-submitted on October 22,1987 (Reference 3).
In telephone conversations on January 19 and March 31, 1988 between members of my staff and Mr. Barry Manili of the NRC Division of Reactor Inspection and Safeguards, GPUN further clarified measures taken to meet the amended requirements of 10CFR73.55 paragraph (e)(1). Please find enclosed a revised page for the proposed plan which incorporates the above clarifications.
The enclosure'to this letter contains Safeguaras Information and therefore must be witnheid from public disclosure in accordance with 10CFR73.21.
