ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT _(TAC N0. 65995)

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.18 to Facility Operating License No OPR-21 for Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1. The amendment is in response to your application dated August 17, 1987.

The amendrnent will revise Technical Specifications Section 3.5.C, Core and Containment Cooling Systems - Feedwater Coolant Injection (FWCI) Subsystem, by

. increasing the minimum required condensate storage tank volume from 225,000 gallons of water to 250,000 gallons to provide an enhanced assurance for achieving cold shutdown in the event of a reactor building fire.

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's bi-weekly Federal Register notice.
