through February 6,1988, of activities at Quad Cities Nuclear Power

Station, Unit:. I and 2 authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No. OPR-29

and No. OPR-30, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. Tamlyn

at the conclusion of the inspection.

,

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined

during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted

of a selective examination of precedures and representative records,

observations, and interviews with personnel.

!

During this inspection, two violations of Nuclear Regulatory Commission

.

requirements, and two deviations from certain guides, codes and standards

endorsed by the Nuclear Regulatory Comission, were identified. Since

',

one violation (Paragraph 2.e.) met the guidelines of 10 CFR 2 Appendix C,

'

V G, Paragraph 1. no Notice of Violation will be issued for that violation.

!;

Regarding the remaining items, a written response is required.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comission's regulations, a copy

of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the

NRC's Public Document Room.
