Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Operability of Core Spray System This correspondence addresses items discussed in our telephone conversation of August 3,1987.
We understand that the NRC had a concern regarding the methodology by which we had determined that Core Spray System II was operable.
The steps used to determine operability were those which we mutually agreed upon in meetings held at Region I prior to startup from our llR outage.
However, as a result of the concerns you expressed in our August 3rd telephone conversation, GPUN identified key seismic supports in Core Spray System II and verified the installation of these was in accordance with design.
Therefore, the piping analyses that were previously made to evaluate justification for continued operation of the Core Spray System are valid.
Additionally, a confirmatory analysis will be performed to reverify our conclusions.
