Gentlemen:
This refers to the safety inspection conducted by Messrs. R. A. Paul and
W. J. Slawinski of this office on January 11-15, 1988, of activities
at Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Operating
Lkenses No. OPR-24 and No. OPR-27, and to the discussion of our findings
with Mr. J. Zach and other members of your staff at the conclusion of

the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this

inspection.
