NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-302/88-03
This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by
F. N. Wright on Jaruary 5-7, 1968.
ina inspection included a review of
activities authorized for your Crystal River facility.
At the conclusion of
the inspection, the tindings were discussed witie those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed inspection report.
The inspection was conducted to investigate the circumstances surrounding a
radiation worker's entry into a high radiation area without a radiation dose
rate monitoring device as required by Technical Specificaticns. The inspection
censisted of selected examinations of prccedures and representative records,
interviews with persennel, and cbservation cf activities in progress.
The violaticns described in the enclosed Inspecticn Report are under
censideration for esce. lated enforcement action.
Accordingly, ne Notice of
Violation is being issued at this time, and no response to this letter i;
required.
However, please be advised that the number and characterizatior, cf
violations described in the enclosed Inspection Report may change as a result
cf further NRC review.
You will be advised by separate correspondence of the
results of our deliberations on this matter.
In accordance with Section P.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
