SUBJECT:
PHYSICAL SECURITY INSPECTION AT MONTICELLO
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. R. Kniceley of this office
-
on August 23 to September 2, 1993. The inspection included a review of
activities authorized for your Monticello Nuclear Power Plant facility. _ At
the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those
members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures,
representative records, observations and interviews with personnel.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
However, one unresolved item regarding the protection of
.
Safeguards Information was identified and is described in Section 5 of the
enclosed report. The resolution of this issue, identified very late in the
inspection, is pending the completion of your investigation.
