Varga, Chief Centlemen: ,

Please find enclosed a copy of our interim report dated November 2, 1978, containing maps, photos, and the basis of our interpretation for the anomalies I found in.the excavation of Black Fox Station Unit One. This interim report was requested by the NRC Geosciences Branch during a conference call with PSO, B&V, and the NRC on October 27, 1978.

The purpose of this report 'is to document the geologic data and the basis of l interpretations which were presented in our interim report dated October 13, 1978. l The maps and interpretations were revicued and discussed with Ms. Sandra Uastler of the NRC Cconcicaces Branch during her site inspection on October 23, 1978.

1 This interim report provides documentation for the NRC Ccosciences Branch to )

make an assessment of the anomalics required to provide PSO with authorization to proceed with the excavation. To complete the record and prepare a final report, PSO needs to complete the Unit One excavation.

Therefore, we again request that an expedient authorization to continue work be granted in order to develop the final evaluation and report.

Very truly yours,

\ l r vn g d4 V. L. C'onrad .
